London
The children’s final residential with us is a grand visit to our capital city, London. The most exciting, interesting and greatest learning experience of all that we offer.
We will be taking the Year 6 pupils from across the Federation Schools on a residential visit to London in the Spring next year. We will be travelling to London by train from Barnstaple and staying at Baden Powell House, next to the Natural History Museum, and hope to include some of the following places of interest in our programme:
The Science Museum & Launch Pad, the Palace of Westminster – both the House of Lords and the House of Commons and hopefully meeting our member of parliament, the Tower of London, The London Eye, Madame Tussauds, the Golden Hind, Covent Garden, the Royal Mews, the Natural History Museum and evening entertainment at the Theatre to see the top West End Show.
The children will have a thrilling and action packed week, as well as seeing the culture, diversity and greatest attractions in Britain. They will experience trains and boats and the underground and will become very proficient at life and work in our big city.
All our programmes of study link into this trip and the experience that the children have will remain with them for the rest of their childhood.
