August 31st 2017
I hope you have all had an amazing summer holiday and you have managed to enjoy the sunshine when it did make an appearance!
Children return to School next week on Monday 4th September at 8.40am. Please make sure we start the term with a prompt start so all children are in school ready to learn by no later than 8.50am.
Last week I sent a reminder about school uniform. Please refer to that email or the school website for more information. A reminder that we do not allow backpacks in school, as we simply do not have the space for the bulky backpacks in the classrooms. However, after feedback from KS2 parents and our School Councillors last year we have looked into a new slightly bigger book-bag with two back straps for our KS2 children who often have a lot more to carry back and forth from school. We hope to have these sometime in the Autumn term but in the meantime please use the normal school book-bag and not a backpack please. For KS2 PE uniform I would recommend 2 PE bags, one for shoes and shin-pads etc and one for PE clothes.
Meet the Teacher Meetings
Next week we have organised ‘meet the teacher’ meetings to give you an opportunity to meet your child’s class teacher and for your teacher to talk through routines, timetables and expectations for the academic year ahead. All class teachers will also send out a welcome letter on the first day back with all the information in the meeting if you are unable to make the meetings below

Online ordering for lunches and morning & after-school club
Over the Autumn term we will be moving to online ordering for hot and cold school dinners and for booking for morning and after school club. We will be rolling out information about how and when this will happen and ensure we give you plenty of notice before we make the change sometime during the first half of the Autumn term.
To improve communication, keep you more informed and share and celebrate learning and achievements we will be sending out weekly newsletters via email. So keep a look out for our weekly newsletters starting next week.
We look forward to seeing you all and finding out about what adventures you and your children have had over the holidays!
